AquaShield's New "To Go" Menu |

AquaShield™'s New "To Go" Menu AquaShield™, Inc. has taken stormwater treatment to a new level with the recent introduction of the Go-Filter™ Mobile Treatment System, or MTS. The Go-Filter™ MTS utilizes a proven treatment train system mounted on a custom-sized trailer with flexible configurations to meet site-specific conditions. An influent piping adaptor allows the MTS to be quickly connected to a construction site pump system. The untreated water is diverted to the MTS where the treated water is discharged in compliance with the site NPDES permit or other regulatory requirements. As with other AquaShield™ Stormwater Treatment Systems, the Go-Filter™ MTS is manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) making it light enough to be hauled on-site with a heavy duty pick-up truck. In keeping with the AquaShield™ quality assurance program, full scale third party testing of the Go-Filter™ has demonstrated greater than 80% removal efficiency of Total Suspended Solids (TSS). In addition to fine-grain sediment removal, the filtration media can effectively remove other contaminants including petroleum hydrocarbons, nutrients and various heavy metals. The Go-Filter™ MTS utilizes a three step treatment process beginning with two Aqua-Swirl™ concentrators. The swirl technology, or vortex separation, is a proven treatment method that accelerates the gravitational separation of contaminants. The first Aqua-Swirl™ concentrator removes gross sediment, floating debris and free oil. The second Aqua-Swirl™ concentrator removes flocculated sediment and pre-treated contaminants that were not captured during the primary treatment. The tertiary treatment can be applied using an innovative upflow filtration chamber. The upflow configuration allows the pre-treated water to be distributed up through the chamber and diffused through the filter media prior to being discharged. The upflow design provides for improved contaminant removal versus gravity flow (downflow) designs, especially at higher flow rates. Various types of filtration media are available based on the site-specific contaminants of concern. Like any stormwater treatment system, maintenance frequency of the MTS is dependent on pollutant loading rates. Maintenance is simple, and can usually be performed while the MTS is on-site to minimize any potential downtime. Since the Go-Filter™ MTS is designed for use on sites that do not require the installation of a permanent stormwater treatment system, flexible rental options are available.
